NYTHL 2025-2026 AWARDS

Tom Kearns (left) won his first Sciacca Sportsmanship award.  His great demeanor during competition, friendship and dedication to the league are just some of the reasons he earned this honor.  This kind and gentle giant drives six hours each month from Pittsburgh to compete and spread his warmth and goodwill throughout the league.  Tom continues to work hard and improve.  Win, lose or draw – you will always get nothing but the best sportsmanship from him.  The next two awards both go to Dan Henner (right) who easily won rookie of the year.  He had big victories at every league date and even made it to the league date seven final by defeating last season’s two finalists - Champ George Slater and runner up Chris D’Andrea.  He also won Most Improved player.  Dan’s winning percentage rose throughout the year, despite the level of competition being a little more difficult.  As the season progressed he was able to record victories over pretty much every big star in the league.  His dedication and determination are the reasons why he has improved so much in just one calendar year.  He too drives a great distance (almost 5 hours) from Syracuse each month to play.  Both Dan and Tom have begun competing on the NATHL circuit.  Dan won the 2026 Detroit Championship back in March with Tom finishing 5^th.  These two men add so much by way of competition, enthusiasm and camaraderie to the NYTHL.  Congratulations to Tom and Dan as they add to the bright future of the league.
