Brian Sullivan
NYTHL 2019-2020 Rookie of the Year.
NYTHL 2019-2020 "B" Playoff Champion
Brian is one of the league's road warriors - making the 4 hour journey from Needham, Massachusetts each month to participate. He also runs the New England Table Hockey League which features players battling on the classic Benej Game. Brian is quickly rising up the NYTHL ranks and is a fan of the Boston Bruins.
Vinny "The Vinner" Catania
Defending five time 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023 NYTHL Champion. Vinny has six overall championships. His first coming in the 2016-2017 season when he dethroned Lou "The Legend Marinoff".
Vinny also is the organizer of the league. He started playing competitively in 2015 and participates on the NTHL circuit. The Vinner is a fan of the New York Islanders.
Chris D'Andrea
NYTHL 2017-2018 Rookie of the Year.
Chris joined the N.Y.T.H.L. during the 2017-2018 season. He made an immediate impact with his high powered offense and super enthusiastic game play. Chris exhibits excellent hand speed, and with a much improved defense is now one of the league's top players. Chris hails from Queens, New York and is a fan of the New York Rangers.
Bob D'Addario
The "Bob O" is one of the original members of the league which goes back to the days of the N.Y.C.T.H.A.. He is another defensive specialist who takes pride in his unorthodox offense. Bob also loves to boast about his ability on the board which makes him one of the league's most entertaining players. Bob makes his way from Commack, New York and is a fan of the New York Islanders. D'addario made it to the Finals and finished second overall in the 2022-2023 season.
Len Mecca
"The Meccanism" Is one of the original players of the NYCTHA. You will be hard pressed to find anyone that knows as much as Len does when it comes to table hockey. He started playing table hockey when he was a kid in 1958 on one of the first slotted Munros. A savy veteran and one of the league's best players - Mecca usually gets better and better as a series goes on. Len hails from Somer's Point, New Jersey and is a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers. Anthony Sciacca
"The Gentleman" is one of the most beloved players of the NYTHL. One of the originals - he joined the NYCTHA just months after its formation in 2007. He has won the NYTHL Best Sportsman award so many times that the reward had to be retired and renamed after him in order to give someone else a chance to win it. Despite being in his seventies Sciacca is the master of the box-style defense and remains one of the league's top players. He recalls his first game being a 1962 Eagle 540. Anthony resides in Yonkers, New York and is a fan of the New York Rangers.
Paul Crescitelli
NYTHL 2020-2021 Rookie of the Year.
Paul broke in to the NYTHL in the 2020-2021 season and made an immediate impact. He has become one of the league's top players in just one full season. Paul loves loves the table games as he is also an avid pool player, Cue maker, and repairs them as well. Paul runs the Merrimack Valley Table Hockey League which features a multi-board platform. He also is one of the league's road warriors making the 4 hour trip from his hometown of Wilmington, Massachusetts and is a fan of the Boston Bruins.
Derek Nisbett
Derek is in his rookie year in the NYTHL. He recalls first playing on his Munro board in 1966. His love for hockey and table hockey is infectious. He hails from Brooklyn, New York and his favorite team is the New York Rangers. It's no surprise that his favorite player is Jean Ratelle. Derek loves to talk trash while he plays, thus making him very fun to play against. As Derek gains experience he will no doubt be a force to be dealt with.
Larry Durham
NYTHL Most Improved Player 2016-2017, 2019-2020
Larry is another of the league's most popular players. He first started playing table hockey on a Munro board in 1970. He joined the NYCTHA in 2014 shortly before the league's transformation into the NYTHL. Larry enjoys the game as much as anyone as he makes the monthly trip from his hometown of Ventnor, New Jersey. He has also hosted various table hockey tournaments there as well. Larry is a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Walter Zissler
Walter joined the NYTHL during the 2019-2020 season. His game has steadily improved on both ends of the board. Walt is a big help in assisting the setting up and breaking down at each league date. This New Jersey native is a fan of the New York Rangers.
George Slater
2018-2019 NYTHL Most Improved Player
George is a defensive specialist. Often amongst the leaders in fewest goals allowed. George instantly became popular within the league when he arrived in the 2016-2017 season. He is from the same town (Deer Park, New York) as Vinny Catania so the two are both great friends and crosstown rivals. No Surprise - George is a fan of the New York Rangers.
John Power
What more can be said about this great player and organizer? This Staten Island native started the NYCTHA which later became the NYTHL. He has is directly responsible for the growth of this game in the New York Metropolitan area. His contributions to the sport are immeasurable. Without him - none of this exists in this area. Did I mention he is one of the most feared players in the league? John's team - The New Jersey Devils.
Mike Gershon
Mike joined the NYTHL in the 2018-2019 season. His improvement has been slow and steady. His play has begun to improve on both ends of the board and he has started to compile more victories. He resides in Brooklyn, New York and is a fan of the New York Rangers.
Phil Lynch
2020-2021 NYTHL Most Improved Player
Phil also joined the NYTHL in the 2018-2019 season. His play continues to improve as he makes his way to the top of the league. He has contributed in countless ways to the league both on and off the board. He designed the current NYTHL logo as well as the banner and table covers used at each league event. He resides in Pearl River, New York and is a fan of the New York Islanders.
Arnie Layton
Arnie is in his rookie season of the NYTHL. He has already made a big splash by beating some of the league's top players. Arnie plays the game with an excellent combination of speed and creativity. He has already won consecutive "B" League date titles and is a strong contender for Rookie of the Year. Arnie resides in Maspeth, New York and is a fan of the New York Islanders. Lee Hendelman
Lee is also in his rookie year of the NYTHL. Like so many players, Lee had a Coleco S-Slot table hockey game from the age of 10 through 12 and has been off the board until this year. Once he discovered there are leagues for this, Lee a Champion pinball player decided to give it a try. Lee struggled out of the gate - which in turn has only made him more determined to improve. He resides in Bayside, New York and is a fan of the New York Islanders.
Rob Brancucci
Rob grew up and resides in Crestwood New York. He along with his brother Phil began playing table hockey in 1965 on Eagle yellowstick games. In 1970 it was then Coleco games with metal players until 1980. After meeting Anthony Sciacca, Rob was introduced to the league, making his debut in the 2022-2023 season. He has an infectious enthusiasm for all things hockey. He played many years of Ice hockey as a goaltender and even collects fiberglass masks and Cooper goalie equipment. You could never meet nicer guys than both Rob and Phil and they have been great additions to the league. Once Rob gains a little more experience to put on top of what he already knows - he will soon rise to the top of the standings. Rob is a lifelong fan of the New York Rangers.
