The Legend Starts Defense of Title With Opening Day Tournament Victory.

"The Legend" Dr. Lou Marinoff defeats "The Vinner" 3 games to 2 in the Final to take the opening league date held at Mother Pugs in Staten Island. Dr. Lou was 18-1-1 during round robin play and swept his way into the Final with victories over tenacious rookie Joe Giglio in the quarterfinals and a savy Len Mecca in the semi-finals. The Vinner swept an improving Bob in the quarters and won another hard fought war against Johnny "Lightening" Fayolle 3 games to 1 in the semis. Despite losing game 1, the battle tested Dr. Lou was able to win game 2 and went ahead in the series by scoring the winning goal with just seconds left in game 3 to secure a 4-3 victory. The Vinner tied the series winning 3-2, but then The Father of table hockey once again proved that you can defy father time by defeating Vinny 4-1 in the deciding game. Congratulations Dr. Lou on another league date title. It was a great time by all!
